Sundays at 10.00am and 6.30pm

wednesdays at 11.00am

We are an alive and active church congregation, glad to welcome everyone through the doors, whether you’ve been a Christian a while, or are just exploring what life is about.

People have been worshipping in this place for about 1000 years, and even after all this time many today are finding a faith in Jesus that is relevant and life-giving.

Our Church Hall hosts many of our weekly groups, and our new Annexe is now open with toilets, a community room and an enclosed courtyard.

ST HELEN'S ON A SUNDAY

The St Helen’s 10.00am service has both a friendly and atmospheric feel:

  • Mainly contemporary in style, with music group and video screens, so everything’s easy to follow.

  • We love welcoming all ages, and our intergenerational feel to the services is one of our strengths.

  • Children's and young people’s activity groups are on offer most weeks. Parents with toddlers and babies are welcome to either stay in church, or use the creche area in the hall

  • Every 4th Sunday of the month it’s our ‘Worship for Everyone’ service where the style is even more interactive and relaxed, and the children stay in for the whole time.

  • Refreshments follow the service

The 6.30pm gives space for a deeper encounter with God:

  • with contemporary worship, prayer and teaching to challenge us to grow in faith.

  • Plenty of time for refreshments and chat too.

  • Music led by a music group.

Sermons are Bible-based, and we try to make things relate as much as possible to everyday life.

The Wednesday 11.00am service is more traditional, and follows the Book of Common Prayer. It isn’t stiff and formal, but is a great time midweek to spend a reflective and peaceful hour in church and share a coffee with folks afterwards.
