Getting married at St Helen’s

St Helen’s is a pretty church and a popular choice for Stapleford couples who want to get married in church.

We are totally committed to marriage and will do all we can to prepare you, for not only the ‘big day’ but also for the years ahead. Naturally, as you’d expect, we believe marriage to be God’s idea; his best invention for those who choose to live in a permanent, loving relationship. As part of our commitment to help prepare you for marriage, we expect all couples getting married at St Helen’s to participate in a marriage preparation course. This is run at various times through the year and is a great way of meeting other couples too. We also run ongoing marriage courses periodically for established married couples in the church and community who want to make a good marriage even better!

At St Helen’s we love weddings and will do all we can to make your special day the most memorable start to your new life together.

Who is eligible to marry in St Helen’s

One of the couple must be a permanent resident in the parish of Stapleford; unless one or both of you are worshipping member(s) of St Helen’s and on the electoral role.

Should one or both of you have been divorced, and then you will need to discuss this with the vicar. There are no hard and fast rules and each couple is given individual consideration.
