Children’s work and Sunday Activities
Our mission is to bring each child into a life-changing relationship with
Jesus, for after all, He has “good plans for them, plans to give hope
and a good future”.
The Bible is clear that children are important to God. Through a wide
program of activities including drama, art, crafts, songs and videos we try
to help the children discover Christ and encourage them into a deeper relationship
with him as their friend and savior. Through links with a church project in
Uganda, we regularly send letters written from our children to the children
in Kampala.
There is a committed team of people, (all CRB checked) who share the vision
for developing the children’s faith and together we work through a syllabus
of books specifically designed to inspire the children.
Children meet in the church hall at 10 am for Sunday school before joining
the adults later, but on the third Sunday of each month, St Helen’s has
an All Age service where we spend the whole service together in church.
For all children in Stapleford, from the ages of 3 to 11 we welcome you to
come and experience FUN and ADVENTURE at St Helen’s!
Pathfinders
Older children between the ages of 11 and 13 join the adult Sunday morning service
then meet together afterwards for ‘Pathfinders’. They have their own programme of
exciting activities and trips and are encouraged to get involved in various aspects
of church life.
Crèche
There’s also a crèche available during the service for those
under threes who need to crawl and have a bit of ‘noisy space’.
Having said that, St Helen’s is child friendly and we want to encourage
families to come together and worship together however that is best for you.
‘I like coming to church because I can see my friends and I can learn
about God’
‘I enjoy listening to the Bible stories’
