How God Changes Lives through St Helen’s

“When we moved to Stapleford four years ago, I had no friends and felt my life was quite empty. We decided to have our baby baptised at St Helen’s, so came on the baptism preparation course. Initially I was against the whole thing but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. As I started to listen it all seemed to make sense. From there we (my husband and I) decided to go on the Alpha course, and since then my life has changed so much, I can’t even explain it enough! I have so much more confidence, I’ve got lots of friends and the church has become like my family. Bill, the vicar is lovely, very friendly and always there to pray with and listen if you have a problem. We’ve been through some tough times since, and I really don’t know how I’d have coped without my faith.” Sonya
“I started coming to St  Helen’s about a year ago, since then I have found such acceptance, love care and a non-judgemental attitude that I know God is here. It’s been great for me and my husband; when we walked in it felt like I was coming home. You can feel God working powerfully.” Iris
“I’ve been coming to St Helen’s for about 17 years. One time we had a parish weekend away, during that time it was really special, the teaching was about spiritual blindness in John chapter 10. That night when I washed my face I felt like Jesus had opened my own spiritual eyes and I understood it also much more. I can feel the barrier has come down between me and God. I’m hungry for the word of God in my life and to do more and more for God however I can. Life is fantastic now I see everything in a different light.”  David
