Men’s Ministry

This is a burgeoning area of ministry at St Helen’s as some of the men have been really challenged about what faith for a man, is all about. Much has been inspired by the book, ‘Wild at Heart’ by John Eldredge (pub. Thomas Nelson).

A group of men has been meeting for curry nights on a Friday and enjoying the time together, and building relationships. But the overall vision is to help men understand their role as a man, and a Christian man in life.

One of the leaders of this new group says, I think the church has been perceived as feminised and that the church doesn’t offer masculine activities and role models. That’s not right. Life’s an adventure; we need to prepare men to take on this adventure in faith

Together the visionaries of this group want to develop ways to train up younger men to fulfil their roles of Christian manhood in the fullest sense, and to encourage all men to see how they can discover their masculinity in the image of a passionate God as warriors in the kingdom of God.
